Hi yes you do the brushless motors have 3 wires blue, green, and yellow that are the speed controler wires and also a white plug that controls the hall of the motor. Without these speed controller the brushless motor will not function. They are not like brush motor that just needs a positive and negative feed. So you would need to buy the gun kit ( new pcb and remote control and the motor. Thanks
